We heart SMASH!

Getting kids’ lunches organised for back to school is made super easy and fun by the folks at SMASH.  They have a sensational new range of lunch boxes and accessories to satisfy the pickiest of children (and even cool stuff for funky mums and dads too!).  There are heaps of things to choose from including cute Cooler Bags, stackable Lunch Buddies, Muffin Carriers, Yoghurt Movers, Wrap & Roll containers and some super funky lunchbox extras like Ice Bricks and a cool clip-together cutlery set.  There is even a selection of awesome pencil cases!

We have been road testing the new range over the past week and we (and our kids) have been loving it!  There is certainly no excuse for a boring lunchbox after seeing this lot!   Here’s the run down…

Miss E doesn’t need a pencil case for school yet – and this sturdy neoprene version would be too big for her needs, however it was perfect when we went camping over the long weekend.  The front pocket fit lots of pencils and crayons, the back one fit decent sized colouring and activity books!  Miss N however, nicked off with the damn thing and had it choc full of her school stuff before we could say “Hows about this cool pencil case?!”….

Master O and Miss Z both nabbed the Drink Bottles as soon as they were unpacked!!  Mel thought it might be too big for Master O to handle, but he’s easily able to open and close the twisty lid, and it hasn’t leaked – Hooray!  Miss Z loves the twist lid bottles and Danni is adamant that the day SMASH start selling replacement lids she will be handing over the credit card for a standing order!!

Both big girls had a grand old time decorating the Lunch Buddies with the stickers provided (great idea to get the kids excited!) although be wary as the stickers don’t survive the dishwasher well!  The cool colours and differing sizes of these lunch buddies was so handy.  Perfect for adding a small container of dips or sauces to a lunchbox.  They even worked perfectly as a tub for salad dressing – with no leaks!

The Lunch Buddies range holding a Mini Ploughman’s for lunch!

The idea of a Ploughman’s Lunch is great for school kids, as you can mix and match with all sorts of different items.  Today we have a Pork Pie, Leg Ham & Roast Pork slices, a little salad, Boiled Egg, Blue Cheese, Carrots and Grapes all finished off with some Pumpkin Chutney.

It’s fantastic also just how well these Lunch Buddies fit in the small cooler bags.  Miss E’s little hands found it difficult to undo the sandwich box, but the smaller snack cups were easier.

Danni loves the portable cutlery set and it’s now a permanent feature in her lunchbox! Too Bad Kiddo’s!

Mel’s loving the wrap and roll box – not that it’s been used it for a wrap or a roll yet LOL, but instead she’s headed off on picnics with it full of home made cookies.  It’s also been used as a lunchbox for Miss E.  Mel was super impressed to notice the grooves on the inside base of the container.  They allow the snack cups from the large lunchbox to sit in neatly without rolling about. Genius!

Miss E's Lunch in the Wrap & Roll

Miss E’s Lunch in the Wrap & Roll

A banana and chia muffin, coconut loaf, trail mix, multigrain rice crackers, jelly with two fruits. She also has a cheese stick and a squeezy yoghurt.

The rubbish free lunchbox is full of great sections, but it IS quite large.  It would be perfect for older kids or adults but a bit big for our little ones.  We love the removable tray in the middle section, which allows for items in the bottom while stacking a sandwich on top. Heaps of room for a long day at work!  The removable snack cups are great as work well on their own, but also are usable with other parts of the nude food movers range.  All sections are easy to open and close and the plastic is sturdy – looks like we’ll have a long friendship!  On the downside – the size.  It doesn’t fit in regular lunch bags which is a tad painful so if you want it insulated you’ll need to purchase the skin to go with it.

All told we are both really happy with this cool new range of stuff.  The Ice Bricks have been a great addition keeping things cold and has been quite handy also as a remedy for the odd little “ouch” that happens round the place!!

SMASH have really hit the nail on the head with this new range – there is something for everyone and no one will be left out.  SMASH are stocked in supermarkets and variety stores the nation over and are very very VERY good value for money!  We still have sandwich keepers I bought years ago!  We both agree purchasing some of these lunch boxes will make your back to school easier and lets face it – a little bit more fun too!

If you are not a fan of our Facebook Page, head on over and like us today!   You will find heaps of great tidbits not seen on the blog – like this super funky SMASH lunch carrier! A Necessity for any Funky Mummy heading out to work!!

Financial compensation was not received for this post. Sample products for the purpose of road testing were provided by SMASH Enterprises.  All opinions expressed here are our own (and of our kids, of course!).
